The president of Fredericksburg-area heating and air company Robert B. Payne received an ethical business award Friday from the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce and Rappahannock Rotary Club.
Bob Thompson won the first Ethical, Character-Driven Citizen of the Year Award. The award, which will be given annually, was presented during a workshop on ethics and leadership at the Fredericksburg Country Club.
Thompson, grandson of company founder Robert B. Payne was recognized for “his honesty, commitment to doing the right thing for the right reason, his efforts to build goodwill in the community and his concern for the needs of others.”
